I am a little sheet ghost
Unremarkable
Two little holes about my eyes
The windows to my soul
My hands can never reach you
My feet don’t touch the ground
The fairies that I entertain
Are all the joy I’ve found
I am a little drifter
Incorporeal
I am not found in mirrors
The camera hides a troll
I forget that you can see me
I flee when I’m in sight
The fancies that I dance between
Are how I spend my nights
I am a little shadow
A spirit on the wall
I bend, I stretch, I bloat, I shrink
Wherever candles fall
Remind me not of real life
Of who I “am” to you
I’m haunted by the poltergeist
Of all I failed to do
I am a little sheet ghost
Hiding now away
My words all echo harmlessly
My colors shades of grey.
I am a little drifter
Fading from your sight
I am a little shadow
Waiting for the night
